Visual Art

Mireille has a very intuitive way of painting extending also to other artistic expressions; whatever fits the need. Her artwork often turns out to be the witness of a conversation between a theme and Mireille. Instead of words, she speaks with colour, form, stroke and material. At some point, the painting is done because it no longer asks for paint or other material. Apparently everything that needed to be ‘said’ has been said. Mireille uses a very intense colour palette and mixes abstract art with figurative. She likes to combine her artistic work with nerd-stuff like IT data analyses or with unexpected trips to the ‘normal’ world. The intensity Mireille feels in experiencing life through her senses and mind, is an intensity she wants to share with her work; for better or worse.

Mireille makes visual art, mostly painting and drawings, but also textile-painting 3D combinations that cross towards sculptures. Her artworks are often about the regenerative powers of life on this planet in all its extraordinary alien-like forms and the relationships we humans have with each other, with nature or (elements of) ourselves and things we have loved and lost.
